Rebuilding Education in Gaza

Where schools have been destroyed and children displaced, we are creating a safe place to learn, grow, and heal with teachers, classrooms, and care in the heart of Gaza.

Why

Why This Work Matters Now?

Since October 2023, over 90% of schools in Gaza have been damaged or destroyed, leaving hundreds of thousands of children without education. These children face conflict, displacement, and trauma without the support that learning provides.

We cannot wait for reconstruction to rebuild education in Gaza.

That’s why we are acting now with these focused actions:
Integration icon

Create Safe and Structured Learning Space.

Establish a dedicated tent learning hub where students attend daily in a supervised environment with consistent routines and safeguarding standards.
Integration icon

Restore Academic Continuity

Provide organized classrooms, trained teachers, and core subject instruction so students can resume measurable learning progress.
Integration icon

Provide Integrated Psychosocial Support

Include counseling space and trauma informed teaching to support emotional stability alongside academics.
What We Are Building

Inside the Learning Hub

We’re creating a fully structured Temporary Learning Space for displaced children in Gaza. The hub will serve about 540 students in grades 1–9, giving them safe, supportive classrooms and access to quality education even during conflict.

The learning hub will include:

Proven Education Programs

This learning hub builds on accredited community education programs that have already supported over 500 students in Gaza with a 98 percent graduation rate in 2025.

Safeguarding and accountability systems are embedded across operations, including:

Child protection policies

Attendance tracking

Academic progress monitoring

Wellbeing assessments

Current Funding

Help Build the Learning Hub

We are raising $350,000 to establish a fully functioning tent learning hub for more than 500 displaced students in Gaza. The funding will create safe classrooms, provide sanitation facilities and learning materials, and support trained teachers delivering daily education and psychosocial care over the next 12 months.

About HUMANITE

In 2003, the U.S. invaded Iraq. Within a few years, terrorism and war defined the Middle East.

Our founders were raised and came of age in the troubles of war—Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Syria. When two moved from America to help, the group formed, learning to love their neighbors on the frontlines of the world’s most notorious wars.

Today, 20 years after they first began, HUMANITE carries on that legacy, closing the gaps that lead to violence and building the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.

rebuilds

In other words...

Education is not only a long term development need but an urgent protective necessary lifesaving intervention, especially in times of war. Without education, children face a whole host of issues ranging from increased risk of exploitation to child labor and early marriages as well as long term psychological harm. Education preserves the foundation of future recovery and helps rebuild the fabric of society.
